Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, addressing a general election campaign meeting in Kalutara, emphasized that there are no corrupt individuals among the National People’s Power (NPP) candidates for this year’s parliamentary elections. She acknowledged that, like all humans, people in her party are capable of making mistakes but emphasized the disciplined, team-oriented approach of the NPP.
Amarasuriya highlighted that the internal accountability and discipline within the party make it difficult for mistakes to go unnoticed or be hidden. She stated, “Humans can make mistakes. We are normal people, and we can make mistakes, but because of the strong team accountability in our party, we work together, ensuring such errors are addressed transparently.”
Her statement focused on the NPP’s commitment to integrity and accountability, distinguishing the party’s practices from others where corruption might go unchecked.
