Former Minister Gamini Lokuge has announced that the latest revelations from the Pandora Papers, an ongoing investigation into the hidden wealth of global elites, will include details about individuals holding high-ranking positions within the current government.
Speaking at a media briefing, Lokuge claimed that these new disclosures would shed light on the finances of prominent government officials. He promised to make a special statement next week, where he will publicly disclose the names and financial dealings of those implicated.
Lokuge emphasized the seriousness of the allegations and stated that the government would take necessary action against any officials found guilty of unethical or illegal financial practices.
“The Pandora Papers have already exposed the hidden wealth of many influential individuals worldwide,” Lokuge said. “This next revelation will include those holding significant power in our own government, and I intend to make these facts known to the public.”
The Pandora Papers, first released in October 2021 by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), have already revealed the secret offshore holdings of politicians, business leaders, and celebrities globally. These revelations often involve allegations of tax evasion, money laundering, and the misuse of public funds.
Lokuge’s announcement has sparked widespread anticipation and concern, with the public eager to see whether his claims will lead to tangible accountability within the government.
