
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake paid a visit this morning (May 31) to the 20th edition of the “Build SL Housing and Construction International Exhibition,” organized by the Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka (CCI).
Held at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre, BMICH, Colombo, the exhibition Sri Lanka’s flagship event for the construction industry began on May 30 and will conclude tomorrow (June 1).
This year’s event features nearly 280 product display stalls and offers a robust platform for industry stakeholders to network, explore business opportunities, and gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and sustainable design innovations.
More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day event, which also provides consumers the opportunity to purchase a wide range of products and services from both local and international exhibitors. A key highlight of this year’s edition is its focus on eco-friendly building materials, which have garnered international recognition.
During his visit, President Dissanayake toured several exhibition stalls, engaging with both local and foreign exhibitors, and held friendly conversations with attendees. The President also presented tokens of appreciation to the event’s sponsoring institutions in recognition of their support.
The event was attended by Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing, Ranjith Ariyaratne; Chairman of the Chamber of Construction Industry, Jayantha Perera; Chief Executive Officer, Eng.
