South Africa clinched their first win in their T20 Series against India, securing a 5-wicket victory in the second game. Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram’s impressive batting performances paved the way for South Africa to surpass India’s total and win under the DLS method.
In the initial stages, South Africa’s bowlers faced challenges in containing the likes of Rinku Singh and Surya Kumar Yadav. Gerald Coetzee’s exceptional three-wicket haul stood out in the first innings, aiding in limiting India to a total of 180 for 7.
South Africa’s chase commenced with a blazing start, smashing an impressive 38 runs off India’s pace attack in the opening two overs. Reeza Hendricks maintained the pressure with an incredible unbeaten 49, ably supported by Aiden Markram, ensuring a steady flow of runs.
Despite a slight dip in the middle, causing concern for the South African camp, David Miller and Tristan Stubbs displayed composed batting to guide their team to victory.
