(COLOMBO) – The police were on Friday looking for a teenage school girl who was allegedly grabbed by her lover at a location in southern Sri Lanka.
According to police the day-light incident took place in Matugama some 80 kilometers south off the commercial capital of Colombo on Thursday afternoon.
The suspect lover accompanied by another unidentified male had bundled the girl into a hired auto rickshaw as the helpless mother was forced to look on, police said.
The suspect is also alleged to have assaulted the girl’s mother before fleeing the scene, they added.
Police also sought assistance from the public nearby to help trace the missing girl.
The girl and her mother were returning home after from a private tuition class when the incident took place.
