Sri Lanka’s Public Security Minister Tiran Alles said on Tuesday that the country has commenced an operation to have 30 Sri Lankan criminal bigwigs repatriated to Sri Lanka, with 29 of them taking refuge in the United Arab Emirate of Dubai and another living in France.
Minister Alles, whilst speaking at an exhibition and carnival in Kirindawela said that discussions with the two countries have commenced after it obtained red notices for the arrest of these fugitives and for them to be flown into face trials in Sri Lanka.
