Police in Mirihana busted a so-called wellness spa that turned out to be a front for a brothel, arresting five suspects in a sting operation. Three women and two men now face charges after the public tip-off revealed the illicit business hiding behind a façade of relaxation.
According to the Mirihana Crime Investigation Unit, the women arrested were aged between 40 and 50 and hailed from Ragama, Agunukolapelessa, and Mount Lavinia. The two men, aged 21 and 40, identified as residents of Deiyandara and Rajagiriya, were caught managing the operation.
The raid, conducted along Stanley Thilakaratne Mawatha in Embuldeniya, exposed the brazen misuse of a spa cover to lure customers. Police confirmed that further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the illegal network.
