Are you looking for instant results from God?
Many people want the blessing, the breakthrough, the answer, and the miracle immediately. But the Bible teaches us that while we are invited to ask God boldly, we are also called to trust Him patiently.
Jesus said:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7
So yes, we must ask.
We must bring our needs, dreams, burdens, and prayers before the Lord. We must not be silent when our hearts are heavy. God wants His children to come to Him in faith.
But after we ask, we must also learn to thank Him, trust Him, and wait for His perfect timing.
The Bible says:
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”
Psalm 37:7
This is where many people struggle. They ask God for something, but when the answer does not arrive immediately, they become discouraged. They wonder whether God heard them. They begin to doubt. They begin to panic.
But God is not slow. God is precise.
His timing is not accidental. His delays are not denials. His silence is not absence.
The Bible reminds us:
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come.”
Habakkuk 2:3
One of the most powerful examples of God’s perfect timing can be seen in the lives of Isaac and Jesus. Not many people understand the striking similarities between them.
Isaac’s birth was announced before he was born. God told Abraham that Sarah would have a son.
“Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac.”
Genesis 17:19
In the same way, just as Isaac’s birth was announced before he was born, the birth of Jesus was also foretold before He entered the world. The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and declared that she would conceive and give birth to a Son.
“You will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.”
Luke 1:31
Both Isaac and Jesus were named by God, not merely by their parents. Their names were part of divine purpose before they entered the world.
Isaac’s birth was humanly impossible because Abraham and Sarah were old, and Sarah was beyond the natural age of childbearing.
“Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing.”
Genesis 18:11
Jesus’ birth was also humanly impossible because Mary was a virgin.
“How will this be, since I am a virgin?”
Luke 1:34
In both cases, God proved that what is impossible with man is possible with Him.
“For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Luke 1:37
But here is the great lesson: Isaac did not arrive immediately.
Abraham had to wait around 25 years from the time God first called him and promised to make him a great nation until Isaac was finally born. God gave the promise, but Abraham had to walk through years of waiting before he held the promise in his arms.
“And Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.”
Genesis 21:5
Likewise, after the birth of Isaac, the world would still wait nearly 2,000 years before the promised Savior, Jesus Christ, was born in fulfillment of Scripture. From the covenant promises given to Abraham, through the voices of the prophets, the rise and fall of kings, seasons of exile, silence, and suffering, God was carefully preparing history for the birth of Christ. What seemed like delay was in fact divine preparation, because Jesus came not according to human urgency, but according to God’s appointed time. As Scripture declares, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son” (Galatians 4:4).
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son.”
Galatians 4:4
That phrase is powerful: “the fullness of the time.”
Jesus was not born too early. He was not born too late. He came exactly when God had appointed.
This teaches us something important. God does not release His blessings like instant noodles. He is not moved by our impatience. He is moved by faith, obedience, and trust.
Sometimes God makes us wait because He is preparing the blessing.
Sometimes He makes us wait because He is preparing us.
Sometimes He delays the answer because the timing, the people, the place, and the purpose are not yet ready.
That is why Proverbs says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
When you ask God for something, ask in faith. Then thank Him as though He has already heard you. Then wait with patience, because the same God who remembered Sarah, the same God who fulfilled His promise to Abraham, and the same God who sent Jesus at the perfect time will also know when to release what He has prepared for you.
“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.”
Lamentations 3:25
So do not give up because the answer has not arrived yet.
Do not assume God has forgotten you.
Do not compare your timing with someone else’s blessing.
Ask.
Believe.
Thank Him.
Wait.
Trust.
Because when God finally releases what He promised, it will not be late. It will arrive in His perfect timing.
