The Matara Magistrate’s Court has issued a warrant ordering the immediate arrest and production in court of former Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Basil Rajapaksa.
The Magistrate issued this order due to the suspect, Mr. Basil Rajapaksa, failing to appear before the court when the case related to the purchase of land in the Brownshill area in Matara was called.

The court has ordered the police to take necessary steps to arrest and produce the suspect when the case is next called.
