Ajith Rohana retirement remains on schedule for September as the Senior DIG denies seeking a service extension and rejects social media rumours.
The Ajith Rohana retirement will proceed as scheduled in September, with the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police confirming that he has not requested an extension of his service.
Speaking to the media, Ajith Rohana responded to reports circulating on social media claiming that the Government was considering extending his tenure in the Police Department.
He firmly denied those claims, stating that he has never requested a service extension and has no reason to do so.
Rohana said he has already made the necessary preparations for his retirement, which is due to take effect when his current term of service concludes in September.
He also urged the public not to be misled by false information and social media speculation regarding his future in the police service.
The Senior DIG reiterated that his decision remains unchanged and that he intends to retire according to the existing schedule.
