Panadura Beach jellyfish have injured several swimmers, prompting authorities to warn the public against entering the sea temporarily.
Authorities have warned the public to avoid swimming after Panadura Beach jellyfish injured several people and hundreds washed ashore.
The warning followed an incident on Sunday when jellyfish stung people bathing in the sea. Around ten injured swimmers were immediately taken to Panadura Base Hospital for treatment.

Hospital sources said four children were among those affected. Medical staff provided the required treatment, and all patients later recovered and left the hospital.
Reports indicate that approximately 300 small jellyfish have washed ashore across the Panadura Beach area.
The injured swimmers had unknowingly come into contact with the jellyfish while spending the holiday in the sea.
Authorities have therefore urged visitors to remain out of the water until conditions become safe and the jellyfish threat has passed.
