Royal College police constable interdicted after allegedly drinking alcohol while guarding A/L examination papers and damaging school property.
A constable attached to the Kurunduwatta Police Station, who was deployed on security duty at Royal College, Colombo, where G.C.E. Advanced Level examination papers were being stored, has been interdicted following an incident involving alcohol consumption and damage to college property.
The officer had been stationed at the premises since August 15. Investigations revealed that on August 19, he consumed alcohol with two officials from the Department of Education and subsequently caused damage to college property.
Following an inquiry, the Colombo South Assistant Superintendent of Police’s Office ordered his interdiction with effect from September 10.
Further investigations are underway under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Lucien Sooriyabandara, who heads the Colombo South Division.
