A fire broke out in a container at the Bandaranaike Warehouse within the Colombo Port premises, prompting an immediate response from the Colombo Port Police Station. With the assistance of the Colombo Port Fire Department, Navy officers, and Port Security personnel, the fire was successfully extinguished.
The container, which held imported oil filters and chemicals from China, was partially destroyed by the blaze, while the remaining portion was safely removed. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported. The Colombo Port Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
