![Confusion Over 'Clean Sri Lanka' Program: NPP MPs Give Conflicting Statements](https://themorningtelegraph.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/45657uiukjmhgfd.jpg)
In a surprising turn of events, two National People’s Power (NPP) MPs expressed contradictory views regarding the existence of a written “Clean Sri Lanka” program during the Sirasa Battle political program held yesterday.
MP Chandima Hettiarachchi, representing the NPP, stated that the program has been officially documented and provided to MPs and District Secretaries at the local government level. He affirmed that the initiative exists in written form and has been distributed accordingly.
However, in a stark contradiction, MP Lakmali Hemachandra, also from the NPP, intervened and stated that no such program has been revealed in writing yet.
This discrepancy has raised questions about internal communication within the party and the transparency of policy dissemination. If the program is formally documented, its absence in the hands of all MPs remains a mystery. If it is still under discussion, then the claim of its existence in writing could mislead both party members and the public.
The NPP leadership may need to address this contradiction promptly to clarify whether “Clean Sri Lanka” is an official, written policy or merely a conceptual framework still under development.
