Two additional farmers have sold a portion of their paddy harvest to the Paddy Marketing Board (PMB) warehouses in Nikaweratiya under the government’s guaranteed price scheme.
According to the Acting Manager of the Northwestern Zone, one farmer delivered 398 kilos of Samba paddy, while another supplied 610 kilos of Nadu paddy at the government’s fixed rate.
Previously, a farmer from Ampara had sold 650 kilos of paddy to the government, adding to the growing stockpile.
