Kusal Mendis will lead Sri Lanka’s ODI and T20 squads on the West Indies tour, while Dhananjaya de Silva captains the Test team.
Kusal Mendis has been appointed captain of Sri Lanka’s ODI and T20 teams for the upcoming tour of the West Indies, with the national cricket squad now officially announced.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee confirmed the squad for the Caribbean tour, which will be played across all three formats: ODI, T20, and Test cricket.
The Sri Lanka team is scheduled to depart for the Caribbean tomorrow (26).
Sri Lanka Cricket stated that Mendis will lead both limited-overs squads during the tour.
All-rounder Kamindu Mendis has been named vice-captain for the ODI and T20 teams, and will also serve as vice-captain of the Test squad.
Meanwhile, the Selection Committee has handed the leadership of the Sri Lanka Test team to experienced all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva.
The tour will begin with the ODI series, followed by the T20 series, before officially concluding with the Test series.
