Chemmani mass grave excavations uncovered six more skeletons, including an adult and child, raising the total identified to 437.
The Chemmani mass grave excavation entered its 36th day of the third phase on Saturday, with investigators identifying six new skeletons.
The court has authorised 56 excavation days for the third phase. The newly identified remains include the skeletons of an adult and a child.
Meanwhile, excavation teams completely exhumed five previously identified skeletons. They also recovered white beads, metal fragments and bangles alongside the remains. In addition, teams located three separate skeletal clusters.
At the Chemmani mass grave, investigators found one skull in an unusual position or condition, with only the skull exposed. Specialists are now carefully clearing and cleaning the surrounding area to uncover it properly.
Across all three phases, investigators have worked for 90 days. They have identified 437 skeletons at the Chemmani mass grave and completely exhumed 428 of them.
