A Facebook video featuring two foreign tourists has gone viral, urging the government to expand its ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ campaign to include unethical police officers. According to the visitors, they were fleeced by an officer who pocketed a sum of money under questionable circumstances. The government’s ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ drive, launched recently, initially focuses on maintaining law and order on public roads, targeting private buses and three-wheeled tuk tuk drivers.
