Sri Lankan MP Archuna Ramanathan has claimed he knows the full details of the 323 containers released without customs inspection. In a dramatic statement to Parliament, he vowed to reveal everything if the government guarantees he won’t be jailed under false pretenses. His explosive remarks have reignited concerns over corruption, smuggling, and political suppression.
MP Archuna Ramanathan told Parliament today that he is ready to reveal the full contents of the 323 containers that were allegedly released without customs inspection, but only if he receives government assurance of protection.
In a bold and emotional speech, the MP said he has detailed information regarding the origin, destination, and specific contents of the containers but fears retaliation from authorities if he speaks out.
“I can provide a list of what was in container 323, what country it came from, where it went. But give me a guarantee that I won’t be removed from my seat or falsely imprisoned in a fabricated drug case,” Archuna told Parliament.
He claimed that attempts are being made to intimidate and silence him, suggesting that powerful entities are using the police and legal system to suppress the truth.
“If not, I may have to flee the country and release the information from abroad,” he warned. “I can reveal everything without fear, but right now, I’m scared. Not of being killed, but of being framed.”
The MP also alleged he has been repeatedly dragged into baseless legal cases and that there is a targeted effort to strip him of his parliamentary seat to shut down his investigations.
“This is about exposing corruption and the truth behind these 323 containers. But they are trying to use their power to suppress one voice, using the police to cover it up,” he added.
His comments have sparked public curiosity and alarm over what might be hidden in the uninspected containers, as well as the potential abuse of state power to silence whistleblowers.
