(COLOMBO) – A young Sri Lankan couple were arrested and later released after they are alleged to have created phonographic material using their own body images to be uploaded on social media, police said on Friday.
The couple, both university graduates and aged 28 and 29 respectively were picked up from a safe house along with phonographic material and other equipment in the central town of Kadugannawa, police said.
According to police the couple had attired in school uniform during the filming and they told police that they needed the extra money for their upkeep.
Several mobile phones, a laptop, electronic gadgetry and both male and female school uniforms were also recovered from the couple’s abode.
It has also been found out that the couple were engaged and due to be married shortly.
Investigations have also revealed that the couple had something like a 15,000 strong following on their social media site.
The couple who were arrested on a tip-off was subsequently released after a stern warning by a local Magistrate.
