Suresh Sallay’s lawyers plan complaints against ASG Dileepa Peiris over court remarks on CID-supervised legal consultations.
Suresh Sallay’s lawyers have informed Attorney General Parinda Ranasinghe that they intend to file a formal complaint against Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris over remarks reportedly made in open court.
The complaint relates to a statement allegedly made by ASG Peiris, in which he reportedly said that consultations between former State Intelligence Service Chief Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Suresh Sallay and his lawyers should take place under the supervision of officers from the Criminal Investigation Department.
The Sunday Times reports that President’s Counsel Shavindra Fernando, appearing for Mr. Sallay, has already conveyed the complaint verbally to the Attorney General. A formal written complaint is expected to be submitted in the coming days.
According to Mr. Sallay’s legal team, the remarks made during the recent court hearing amount to a violation of the rights of both attorneys and suspects. In addition to raising the matter with the Attorney General over ASG Peiris’s comments, the lawyers have also decided to lodge a complaint with the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
The Sunday Times further reports that the Sri Lanka Army has also filed a complaint with the Attorney General against ASG Peiris.
That complaint concerns remarks made in court alleging that Army Intelligence personnel had pressured witnesses in the case, concealed evidence, and failed to cooperate with the investigation. ASG Peiris had also reportedly stated that he would be compelled to name the Army Commander as a suspect if such incidents continued.
Major General (Retd.) Suresh Sallay is currently being detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks.
The developments now place the case at the centre of a wider legal controversy involving attorney-client rights, prosecutorial conduct, military intelligence allegations, and the handling of one of Sri Lanka’s most sensitive national security investigations.
I noted former intellegence head Suresh Salley has been detained remand for long under PTA and questioned regarding Pasku Sunday Attack killing over 270 persons in Paku Sunday seven years back. As I note the main crime is not taking action responding the prior warning received duely by GOSL with adequate details. Shani Abesekara was in police at that time and he is a respondent for that. Today Shani Abeysekara is in police crime divisio on contract basis. At present Shani Abesekara is questioning Suresh Salley. Even wife of Suresh Salley has complained Suresh Salley is questioning making him naked and putting rats on his body. This is pathetic. Suresh Salley was a Chief of Intellegence at the war ended in 2009. He is a person who had a dedicated service to my country. I am a professional Engineer. My idea is if some one detained in police and questioning giving inhuman harrasment that implies the process to fulfil some undue persoanal target A person having a charge would never act justifiably. This is a crime which killed over 270 persons. Therefore I invite some one or an entity to forward this matter even an international human rights or take action to receive universal jurisdiction/ universal justice. I conside r this as very serious,
How about the innocent Tamils who were tortured. Raped and killed by Sally and his intelligence cohorts under PTA. There were even children with school bags as Chemany excavations shows. Where were the cry for universal justice.
It is coming to light the people who were responsible for the carnage. ASG could be wrong to say that lawyer client confidentiality should be withdrawn. At least Sally is given a lawyer how many Innocent Tamils could not have a lawyer even.
From the investigative reports there is primafacie evidence for Sally pivotal role in this horrible claim. Travel ban on Gota is making it obvious.
It is the judiciary that decides not the ASG.
As far as the army intelligence is concerned their role in falsely putting the blame on LTTE for murders by zaran group
They have to take responsibility for that shit anyway

You are making very serious allegations or torture, rape and murder committed by Saleh. Have you planned your evidence before courts? Current investigation in NOT Amit any of them. Either please provide the evidence before the courts or shut your trap. You will be prosecuted for slander.
