Galle Face Group hosted its 2026 cocktail and mocktail contest in Colombo, spotlighting beverage talent across leading hotel brands.
Galle Face Group brought Sri Lanka’s hospitality talent into the spotlight with its Inter-Hotels Cocktail & Mocktail Competition 2026, held on Monday, 15 June 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo.
The event, which commenced at 9.00 a.m., gathered some of the Group’s most skilled hospitality professionals for a vibrant showcase of creativity, innovation and technical excellence in beverage craftsmanship.
Organised as one of the Group’s key annual initiatives, the competition was designed to recognise and celebrate the outstanding abilities of personnel serving across its properties around the country. Their commitment, discipline and artistry continue to play a central role in strengthening the Group’s reputation for quality service and memorable guest experiences.
By staging the competition on a major hospitality platform, the Group also reaffirmed its wider commitment to developing internal talent, encouraging professional growth and raising service standards within Sri Lanka’s hotel and tourism sector.
A total of 51 participants from the Group’s leading hospitality brands competed across four categories: the Periceyl Spirit Cocktail Challenge, DCSL Beer Fusion Cocktail Challenge, Sunquick Signature Mocktail Challenge and Coffee Creations Challenge.
Contestants represented several well-known properties and brands, including EKHO Surf, EKHO Safari, EKHO Sigiriya, EKHO Lake House, the Rest Houses brand, Queens Hotel, Hotel Suisse, Galle Face Hotel and the Awanahala brand.
Throughout the competition, participants displayed strong technical skill, creative presentation and original beverage concepts, reflecting the professionalism and passion that continue to define the Galle Face Group’s hospitality workforce.
The event also underlined the growing importance of beverage innovation as part of the modern guest experience, where mixology and mocktail creation are increasingly viewed as both a craft and a specialized profession.
Held in the spirit of World Cocktail Day, observed annually on 13 May, the competition helped encourage emerging talent within Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry while reinforcing the Group’s role in setting benchmarks for service quality.
The Galle Face Group extended its appreciation to the event’s principal sponsors for their support and partnership, noting that their contribution helped make the competition a success.
Through initiatives of this nature, the Group said it remains committed to celebrating the skills of its personnel, describing their talent as the true hallmark of its quality and standards.
