Amruta Fadnavis faces social media criticism over her Yoga Day outfit at a Mumbai event attended by children and dignitaries.
Amruta Fadnavis has sparked a heated social media debate after her outfit at an International Yoga Day celebration in Mumbai drew criticism and defence online.
The wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended a large-scale yoga program organized by the Divyaj Foundation at the NSCI Dome premises in Worli, India.
This year’s Yoga Day event was held under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
More than a thousand children, including children of deceased farmers and students from BMC schools, joined the program along with several dignitaries and prominent personalities.
Although the main aim of the event was to promote physical and mental well-being through yoga, attention online quickly shifted toward Amruta Fadnavis’s choice of clothing.
She arrived for the yoga session wearing a sporty athleisure co-ord set, consisting of a bright green, form-fitting jacket and matching tights.
After visuals from the event were shared online, many social media users began criticizing the outfit, with some calling it “inappropriate” for a public yoga program.
Critics argued that the attire looked more suitable for a fitness photoshoot than a community event attended by children.
However, others defended Amruta Fadnavis, saying such sporty clothing is widely used for yoga and fitness activities across the world.
Supporters said the criticism was unnecessary and that the focus should remain on the event’s message of health, wellness, and yoga.
Amruta Fadnavis has not yet publicly responded to the controversy.
However, the incident has triggered a wider online discussion about personal choice, fitness clothing, public appearances, and the intense scrutiny faced by public figures on social media.
