The Easter Sunday terrorist attack conspiracy is now being uncovered, and Chamira Perera, convener of the Easter Justice Struggle People’s Collective, has made a formal demand for the immediate arrest of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Perera insists that recent testimony from former Police Chief CD Wickramaratne proves that the former president must face justice without further delay.
Addressing a media briefing in Colombo, Perera stated that Wickramaratne’s evidence is crucial in exposing the true masterminds behind the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings. The attacks killed over 250 people and injured hundreds more, devastating the nation. Perera argued that the former Police Chief’s testimony removes any remaining doubt about who orchestrated the conspiracy.
Allegations Against the Rajapaksa Family
Perera also levelled serious accusations against the Rajapaksa family and their associates, claiming they operated like an underworld gang. He alleged that they attempted to derail investigations by employing hired assassins to eliminate key witnesses. These tactics, he said, were designed to shield those responsible while allowing the truth to remain buried.
He further argued that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa secured the presidency by exploiting the Easter attack. Perera pointed out that Rajapaksa campaigned on a platform of national security, using the tragedy to justify his rise to power. However, Perera described this as a calculated political conspiracy rather than a genuine effort to protect the country.
“The people who carried a dead body and came to power are now being exposed,” Perera declared. “The entire country now knows who the real masterminds behind this brutal attack are.” His comments reflect growing public frustration over the pace of justice.
Political Revenge and Religious Manipulation
Perera also accused the Rajapaksa government of committing massive fraud and crimes under the guise of protecting Sinhala Buddhist identity. He argued that these actions were not motivated by religious devotion but by a desire for political control. According to Perera, true Buddhists would never support such murderous politics, and the regime deceived even religious leaders to gain power.
The convener called for an end to what he described as the politics of savagery. He said that the current government must act swiftly to dismantle the networks that enabled the Easter attack and its subsequent cover-up. Perera emphasised that religious identity cannot be used to shield criminals from accountability.
Urgent Call to the Current Government
Perera urged the current administration and President Ranil Wickremesinghe to act immediately. He insisted that the government must not delay these investigations any further and must take decisive steps to punish the wrongdoers. Delays, he warned, would only undermine public trust in the justice system.
“Do not drag this on for another month or two,” Perera demanded. “End this conspiracy created by the Deep State and deliver justice to the people.” His appeal highlights the growing pressure on the government to resolve one of the nation’s most traumatic chapters.
As the Easter attack investigations continue, the demand for Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s arrest is likely to intensify. Perera and his supporters have vowed to keep the pressure on authorities until justice is served.
