SriLankan Airlines Maldives partnership with Maldivian lets passengers book seamless journeys to 17 domestic islands on a single ticket.
SriLankan Airlines Maldives connectivity has received a major boost after the national carrier signed a new interline agreement with Island Aviation Services, operating as Maldivian (Q2), allowing passengers to reach 17 domestic destinations across the Maldives on a single ticket.
Under the new agreement, travellers can book combined itineraries with SriLankan Airlines and Maldivian using one electronic ticket for both inbound and outbound journeys via Velana International Airport in Malé and Gan International Airport on Gan Island.
The partnership links SriLankan Airlines’ international network with Maldivian’s domestic services, giving passengers easier access to both remote islands and popular tourist destinations throughout the Maldives. The airline said the arrangement is expected to improve travel for both leisure and business passengers by providing smoother connections across the island nation.

SriLankan Airlines Maldives Network Grows
SriLankan Airlines currently operates three daily flights to Velana International Airport and two weekly flights to Gan International Airport. These services strengthen air connectivity between Sri Lanka and the Maldives while also offering onward travel through the airline’s wider international network.
According to the airline, the new interline partnership also creates additional opportunities for travel agents, tour operators, corporate travel planners and individual travellers. By combining both airlines on a single itinerary, the agreement simplifies the booking process while supporting passenger growth on the Malé and Gan routes.
Head of Commercial Dimuthu Tennakoon said the collaboration represents another important step in expanding SriLankan Airlines’ regional footprint while making travel more convenient through the integration of its global network with Maldivian’s domestic operations.
Meanwhile, Maldives Manager Nayomi Tennakoon said the agreement allows passengers travelling on SriLankan Airlines’ international services to connect seamlessly through Malé and Gan to numerous domestic destinations across the Maldives under a single itinerary.
The airline said the partnership reflects its continued commitment to strengthening regional connectivity, enhancing passenger convenience and offering travellers more destination choices.
SriLankan Airlines currently serves 130 destinations across 63 countries, including codeshare services, while operating direct flights to 33 destinations with an all-Airbus fleet consisting of A330-200, A330-300 and A320/321 aircraft.
