The organisation has reportedly become the first Sri Lankan-origin church to register officially with the UK Charity Commission.
It has also opened a new headquarters on Buckingham Palace Road in London.
The development has prompted questions over whether the expansion is purely religious or also offers important financial and legal advantages under the British charity system.

The Attorney General has informed the Court of Appeal that the Criminal Investigation Department is conducting an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
That inquiry concerns the source of approximately Rs. 3.3 billion reportedly spent on constructing the 5,000-seat Miracle Dome church in Katunayake.
