The NPP government has appointed activist Dilan Senanayake as a director of the National Youth Services Council (NYSC). His appointment was confirmed during the formation of the new board of directors, which took place on February 5 at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The official appointment letters were handed over by Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, during the event, which was also attended by Attorney-at-Law Supun Wijeratne, Chairman and Director General of the NYSC.
Senanayake’s appointment marks a notable inclusion of activists within key government institutions, signaling a potential shift towards increased youth representation and advocacy within national policymaking.
