A terrifying underworld-style punishment unfolded inside a popular Colombo nightclub as a gang stormed the venue, stripped employees, dressed them in women’s clothes and live-streamed the humiliation to a drug kingpin abroad, exposing a shocking rise in violent gang retaliation.
A shocking incident has emerged from the Kollupitiya area, where an underworld gang stormed a Colombo nightclub and subjected its employees to a disturbing punishment. According to a senior police officer, a group of ten individuals linked to criminal activities targeted a nightclub owned by the son of a well-known television drama actor who passed away some time ago.
Reports indicate that top henchmen of drug trafficker Welle Saranga, who is believed to be hiding in Dubai, carried out this humiliating attack. The gang allegedly forced three employees of the nightclub into an unusual and degrading punishment after storming the premises.
The group first cut the hair of the employees and then stripped them. After this, the thugs dressed the staff members in women’s clothing, placed flower garlands around their necks and forced them to dance for their amusement. The entire act appears to have been carried out as a retaliatory message linked to previous disputes involving followers of Welle Saranga.
It has also been reported that the gang live-streamed the punishment to Welle Saranga via WhatsApp, allowing him to watch the humiliating spectacle in real time from Dubai. Authorities believe the attack was orchestrated as revenge for an earlier incident in which several associates of the drug trafficker had visited the same nightclub.
Police sources confirm that the attack has raised serious concerns about growing underworld influence, violent intimidation tactics and the boldness of criminal gangs operating in Colombo. Investigations are underway to identify all those involved, assess the motive behind the attack and take necessary legal action.
