(COLOMBO) – A Sri Lankan Chemistry tuition teacher was arrested after he is alleged to have abducted a former doctor following a financial dispute, police said on Friday.
The incident took place in the country’s southern tourist hot spot of Hikkaduwa situated some 136 kilometres from the commercial capital of Colombo.
The doctor was earlier attached to a State hospital as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist but had subsequently retired from service and opted to teach Biology for Advanced Level students.
The abducted former doctor was later rescued from a safe house in the Hikkaduwa area.(COPY ENDS)
