
Colombo, Sri Lanka – Deputy Minister of Public Security, Sunil Watagala, has revealed that authorities possess information on the whereabouts of suspended IGP Deshabandhu Tennakoon, who is currently on the run after an arrest warrant was issued against him.
Speaking during a national television program, Watagala also stated that the police have intelligence regarding a missing woman connected to the case.
“Currently, Deshabandhu is on the run. That woman is missing. We have information about them. Tell him to stay like that. He will be arrested within a limited time based on the intelligence we have,” the Deputy Minister asserted.
His remarks come at a time when law enforcement agencies have sought public assistance in locating Deshabandhu Tennakoon, further intensifying the nationwide search for the fugitive IGP. The revelation suggests that authorities may be closing in on his arrest, signaling a potential breakthrough in the high-profile case.
