Renowned journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama has reported receiving death threats from a notorious underworld leader.
Following the threats, he lodged a formal complaint with the Piliyandala Police, prompting authorities to take immediate action.
Samarawickrama had previously been under police protection due to similar threats, but after the new government assumed power, his security was withdrawn. However, upon reassessment of the situation, law enforcement has now reinstated police protection for the journalist to ensure his safety.
