Plantations and Community Infrastructure Minister Samantha Vidyarathna has revealed that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake had been planning for the National War Heroes’ Commemoration in Colombo well in advance of the official date.
According to the Minister, the President was actively engaged in discussions related to the ceremony for several months prior, indicating that the event had been on the government’s agenda long before it became a topic of public attention.
Confirming the President’s attendance at the commemoration, Minister Vidyarathna dismissed any criticism or allegations raised by opposing voices, stating that the government remained focused on its duties and was undeterred by distractions.
He made these remarks while speaking to the media following a separate ceremonial function.
