The Miss World Organization has announced its list of 40 quarterfinalists selected from across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas — and Sri Lanka’s representative, Anudi Gunasekara, has not made the cut.
Anudi, who performed commendably in key segments such as Multimedia and the Head-to-Head Challenge, was seen as a promising contender heading into the quarterfinals. Her efforts drew support and admiration from fans at home and abroad, particularly for her eloquence and digital engagement.
However, despite her strong performance, she was not among the finalists moving forward in the competition. The decision has come as a disappointment to many Sri Lankan pageant followers who had high hopes for Anudi’s journey on the global stage.
The Miss World finals will continue with selected contestants advancing through various rounds, culminating in the crowning of the next titleholder.
