President Anura Dissanayake was conferred the honorary title ‘Maha Mahendra Prasadini’ during the inauguration of the National Poson Festival held at the sacred Mihintale Rajamaha Viharaya in Anuradhapura.
The title was presented by the Chief Incumbent of the Mihintale Viharaya, Venerable Walawahengunawewe Dhammaraththana Thero, in appreciation of the President’s full state sponsorship and support for this year’s Poson celebrations.
The ceremonial moment served as a symbolic gesture acknowledging the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting Sri Lanka’s Buddhist heritage through nationwide religious observances.
