Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal has alleged that his public fall during the swearing-in ceremony was not accidental, but the result of a deliberate act orchestrated by two media institutions.
Speaking to reporters, Jayalal claimed he stumbled because a journalist lifted a camera wire in his path as he was walking forward. He accused the media outlets involved of not only targeting him personally but also conspiring against the government as a whole.
“This was no accident, it was a planned sabotage. These media institutions have abandoned basic journalistic ethics,” Jayalal said, insisting the incident was part of a broader political agenda.
