After a dramatic US airstrike on Iran’s top nuclear facilities, Tehran declares every American in West Asia a “target.” As tensions skyrocket, Iran promises to “end it” while Israel braces for fallout. Are we on the brink of all-out war in the Middle East?
Iran Threatens Retaliation: ‘Every American in West Asia Is Now a Target’ After US Bombs Nuclear Sites
In a chilling escalation, Iran’s state-run media has declared that every American civilian and soldier in West Asia is now a legitimate “target” in response to the United States bombing three major Iranian nuclear facilities Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
“The United States has violated our sovereignty. It has no right to operate in West Asia. Mr. Trump, you started this, and we will end it,” blared Iranian state television, showing a map pinpointing US military installations across the region.
This warning followed President Donald Trump’s announcement that the US had successfully carried out a full-scale aerial assault on Iran’s underground nuclear infrastructure. Trump confirmed the attack via Truth Social, stating, “A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow,” calling the mission a “historic achievement” for the United States, Israel, and the global community.
Though Iran’s media reported that all three nuclear sites had been evacuated before the attack, regional officials acknowledged that significant damage had been sustained. The Fordow site, deeply buried underground, had been considered nearly impregnable until now.
In the aftermath, Israel placed the country on high alert. Non-essential services were suspended, and a bolstered military presence was observed around sensitive installations. Meanwhile, increased security was reported at the US Embassy in Baghdad, with diplomatic officials bracing for potential Iranian reprisals.
Trump, speaking to Reuters by phone, issued a stark warning: “Iran must stop immediately, or they’ll get hit again harder.”
The strikes mark a critical turning point in the rapidly worsening Israel-Iran conflict that began with a surprise Israeli offensive on June 13. Since then, both nations have exchanged a series of escalating attacks. Israel claimed it had eliminated three more senior Iranian commanders in recent days.
Iran’s newly elected President, Masoud Pezeshkian, responded to the attacks by vowing “devastating” retaliation if Israeli bombings continued, asserting that Tehran would not halt its nuclear program “under any circumstances.”
Further complicating the crisis, Iran’s Houthi allies in Yemen issued their own warning, stating they would resume targeting American warships in the Red Sea should the US deepen its involvement, despite the ongoing ceasefire.
With both sides now on a war footing, global observers fear the conflict could spiral into a full-scale regional war — drawing in more powers and upending fragile diplomatic efforts in the Middle East.
