A Mannar student assault allegation has emerged after a Grade 5 girl at a prominent girls’ school was hospitalized on Friday following an alleged attack by her class teacher.
The incident reportedly occurred during a special preparation class for students due to sit the competitive scholarship examination. According to reports, the teacher became angry after the student answered a question incorrectly. She then allegedly slapped the young girl across the face several times in front of her classmates, raising concerns about school safety in Sri Lanka.
The child’s parents immediately took her to Mannar District General Hospital, where doctors admitted her for treatment. Medical staff continue to treat and monitor the student’s condition following the alleged Mannar student assault.
