COLOMBO — Moors Sports Club strengthened their position at the top of Group A, while Nondescripts Cricket Club recorded a massive 175-run victory over Police Sports Club as another eventful round of the Major Clubs Limited Over Tournament 2026 unfolded on Wednesday.
Rain affected several matches across Colombo and Maggona, forcing the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method into action and leaving the Burgher Recreation Club-Sinhalese Sports Club encounter without a result.
Elsewhere, Panadura Sports Club secured an important 37-run victory over Tamil Union, while Colts Cricket Club made short work of Bloomfield to win by five wickets with a remarkable 173 balls remaining.

Police remain third with six points from four matches.
Colts Race Past Bloomfield

Rain Denies SSC and BRC

BRC made 228 for six from 40 overs before SSC began their chase.
The Group B leaders had reached 70 for two after 19.5 overs, chasing a target of 229, when conditions prevented the match from reaching a conclusion.
The shared points nevertheless kept SSC at the top of the standings with seven points from five matches, one ahead of Colts and Police.

Qualification Race Begins to Take Shape
Following Wednesday’s round, Moors have opened up a three-point advantage at the top of Group A and remain the team to catch.

NCC’s huge victory has also ensured they remain in the qualification conversation despite three defeats from their opening five matches.
