Musician Iraj Weeraratne has accused popular YouTube creator Sudatta Thilakasiri of unlawfully profiting from the Dalada exhibition by misusing the names of the President and other ministers.
In a video posted on his social media account, Weeraratne claimed that Thilakasiri has been exploiting the Dalada exhibition for financial gain. To support his allegations, Weeraratne presented audio recordings from Sri Lankans abroad along with various documents as evidence.
According to Weeraratne, the Dalada Maligawa has clearly stated that no external organization is authorized to collect funds for the Dalada exhibition. He emphasized that immediate action should be taken to investigate the misuse of the President’s name for this purpose.
Following these revelations, a complaint was filed with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Weeraratne appeared before the CID today to provide a statement regarding the allegations.
