Yoshitha Rajapaksa arrested by CIABOC after questioning over his Navy recruitment and training at Britain’s Royal Naval College.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption this morning after he appeared before officials to record a statement.
Rajapaksa, the second son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was summoned over an ongoing investigation linked to his recruitment to the Sri Lanka Navy and later training at the British Royal Naval College.
After questioning, CIABOC officials placed him under arrest.
He had first been asked to appear yesterday, but informed authorities in writing that he could not attend due to a Court of Appeal hearing. His appearance was then rescheduled for this morning.
