India arms exports to Israel could risk complicity in Gaza atrocities, Amnesty International warns in a new investigation.
NEW DELHI — Amnesty International has warned that India arms exports to Israel could expose the country to complicity in alleged war crimes and genocide in Gaza.
The human rights organization said its latest investigation tracked multiple shipments of military equipment, ammunition and dual-use technology. Indian manufacturers reportedly exported the items to Israel after the conflict intensified.
Campaigners and legal experts argue that continuing these trade ties could violate India’s obligations under international humanitarian law. They have also cited ongoing international investigations and rulings concerning Israel’s conduct in Gaza.

India Arms Exports Face Growing Scrutiny
The report highlights growing tension within India’s foreign policy. New Delhi has developed an extensive strategic and defence relationship with Israel over several decades.
That partnership includes joint military technology projects, defence cooperation and intelligence sharing. However, India has also historically supported Palestinian statehood and maintained wider diplomatic ties across the Middle East.
Amnesty urged the Indian government to suspend all existing arms export licences immediately. It also called on New Delhi to halt future transfers of weapons and military equipment to Israel.
The organization warned that countries supplying weapons despite documented international law violations could face legal accountability for assisting atrocities.
Neither India’s Ministry of External Affairs nor representatives of the country’s main defence manufacturers immediately responded to requests for comment on the investigation.
However, previous government statements on defence exports have maintained that India follows international protocols and domestic regulations governing foreign military sales.
The findings place renewed pressure on New Delhi to explain how its growing defence partnership with Israel aligns with its international legal obligations and longstanding diplomatic position on Palestine.
