Nalinda Jayatissa says the government is ready to bring skilled people into the development process, regardless of their political views.
Minister of Health and Media Nalinda Jayatissa said the government would never hesitate to include honest individuals in the country’s development process if they have the skill, ability, and commitment needed to build the nation.
The Minister stressed that, just as the President has acted during the past period, the current government also follows a very open policy on this matter.
He further said that even if a person did not vote for the government or holds a different political opinion, the government is ready to obtain that person’s contribution if they are genuinely willing to serve the country.
Commenting on the conduct of the opposition, the Minister said certain opposition groups hold discussions at night and try to create news only to show the public that they are still active on the political stage.
He said they have no real plan to contribute to the country’s development, adding that their attempts to obstruct the government’s work will not succeed.
Pointing out that the government holds a two-thirds majority in Parliament, the Minister said the opposition can only assist by adding to and improving the positive proposals brought forward by the government.
He further clarified that this is not an attempt to politically capture individuals from other parties, but an effort to connect skilled people to the common process of nation-building.
