The New York Knicks moved one win away from the NBA championship after a dramatic 107-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. New York trailed by as many as 29 points, but produced one of the greatest comebacks in Finals history to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
For most of the night, San Antonio looked in control. Victor Wembanyama dominated inside, the Spurs moved the ball well, and the Knicks seemed to have no clear answer.
But New York refused to fold. Jalen Brunson led the comeback with a fearless performance, driving at the Spurs defence and keeping the Knicks alive when the game looked lost. As the lead began to shrink, Madison Square Garden came back to life. Every stop, rebound and basket pushed the Knicks closer. San Antonio, which had looked calm early, began to lose rhythm under pressure. By the final minutes, the game had turned into a tense battle between a young Spurs side trying to hold on and a Knicks team chasing history.
The decisive moment came in the final seconds. Brunson missed a late three-point attempt, but OG Anunoby reacted quickest and tipped the ball in with just over a second remaining. The basket sealed a stunning Knicks comeback and sent the Garden into celebration. San Antonio’s final shot failed, leaving the Spurs to wonder how the game slipped away.
The Knicks now lead the NBA Finals 3-1 and can end their long championship drought with one more win in Game 5.
