Cricket batting game remarks from Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage have drawn attention after Sri Lanka’s disappointing World Cup campaign.
Sri Lanka Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage has described cricket as “a batting game rather than a bowling game” during the annual Sri Lanka Cricket Awards ceremony.
Gamage said Sri Lanka’s traditional strength lies in batting. He also argued that responsibility for the national team’s disappointing T20 World Cup campaign did not rest solely with the players.
The minister made the remarks while addressing cricketers, administrators and invited guests at the awards event, placing renewed attention on Sri Lanka’s recent performances and wider cricketing responsibilities.
