According to a report by NDTV, a 75-year-old man from Himachal Pradesh has shown that learning has no age limit.
Dr. Milkhi Ram, from the Kangra district, already holds an astonishing 32 academic degrees. However, he recently appeared for yet another examination, proving that his passion for higher education remains strong.
Dr. Ram sat for an MA in Sanskrit examination at an IGNOU study centre in Hamirpur. The qualification is considered equivalent to an “Acharya” degree. As expected, he was the oldest candidate at the examination centre.
His long academic journey began in 1972, when he joined the Forest Department. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1976 and then continued studying while managing a full-time government career and family responsibilities.
By the time Dr. Ram retired from a Grade-I post in 2010, he had already earned 26 degrees. Today, the 75-year-old man has 32 degrees across several fields.
His qualifications include a PhD in Hindi, an MBA, an LLB, Journalism, BEd, MPhil, and master’s degrees in Political Science, Economics, History, and Sociology. His story has also become a powerful example of academic achievement and lifelong learning.
